abstract PURPOSE: To prepare the titled herbicide containing a mixture of 3,4-dichlorocarbanilidic acid methyl ester with other compound as an active component, exhibiting excellent herbicidal effect to harmful weeds such as groundsel at a low rate of application by the synergistic effect of the components, and harmless to the crops in the plowed land. n CONSTITUTION: The objective herbicide contains (A) 1pt. of 3,4-dichlorocarbanilidic acid methyl ester of formula I which is a known herbicide having excellent herbicidal activity to the gramineous weeds such as large crab-grass and annual broad-leaved weeds such as chickweed before sprouting, and applicable to a corn field, etc. and (B) preferably 0.01W1pt. of 3-(3,4-dichlorophenyl)-1,1-dimethylurea of formula II. The active components are added with a carrier and an adjuvant, and applied in the form of wettable powder, granules, etc. The herbicide exhibits excellent herbicidal effect even to the grown weeds such as large crab-grass, groundsel, etc. in the culture of dry field crop such as barley or a horticultural crop, and has wide herbicidal spectrum and application period, as well as high residual activity. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1984,JPO&Japio
