titleOfInvention Matte coating material composition
abstract PURPOSE: The titled composition, prepared by incorporating a thermosetting vinyl type powdery resin material consisting of a vinyl type monomer containing glycidyl groups, etc. with an aqueous resin, containing carboxyl groups, and neutralized with a base, in a specific proportion, having improved coating film properties, and capable of giving surface roughness without using an inorganic pigment. n CONSTITUTION: A matte coating material composition prepared by incorporating (A) a thermosetting vinyl type powdery resin (0.02W100μ particle diameter) consisting essentially of a vinyl type copolymer of (i) 5W50wt% vinyl type monomer containing glycidyl groups, e.g. glycidyl acrylate, and (ii) 95W50wt. another copolymerizable monomer, and having 80W150°C softening point (the ring and ball method) and 1,500W80,000 number-average molecular weight with (B) an aqueous resin, containing carboxyl groups, and neutralized with a base, e.g. alkyd type, (C) a hardening agent reactive with the components (A) and/or (B), e.g. melamine resin, and (D) a solvent, e.g. an organic solvent, at (2:8)W(8:2) solid weight ratio between the components (A) and (B). n EFFECT: Improved stability for aging and coating operability of the coating material. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1984,JPO&Japio
