titleOfInvention | Resin for high refractive index lens having excellent light resistance |
abstract | PURPOSE: To prepare the titled resin having high refractive index, excellent processability such as polishability, and improved light resistance, by copolymerizing a specific bis(β-methyl)allyl carbonate with a radically polymerizable monofunctional monomer containing an aromatic ring and having high refractive index. n CONSTITUTION: The objective resin for lens can be prepared by copolymerizing (A) one or more bisallyl carbonate or bis β-methylallyl carbonate of formula I [(ϕ is group of formula II, III or IV (X is H, Cl or Br; n is 1W4; A is isopropenyl or sulfon); R is H or methyl] [e.g. 1,4-bis(hydroxyethoxy)benzene bisallyl carbonate] and (B) one or more radically polymerizable monomers containing an aromatic ring and having a refractive index of ≥1.55 as homopolymer (preferably phenyl methacrylate, etc.). The amount of the component (A) is preferably 5W80wt%. n EFFECT: The yellow discoloration of the resin by the long-term exposure to ultraviolet radiation can be remarkably reduced. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1984,JPO&Japio |
