titleOfInvention Hydrothermal treating method for precipitate containing arsenic sulfide
abstract PURPOSE: To form arsenic sulfide precipitates efficiently and uniformly into lumps of high density, by heating the arsenic sulfide precipitates containing the arsenic sulfide at a temperature below the softening point under atmospheric pressure or above, and subjecting the resultant heat-treated precipitates to the hydrothermal treatment. n CONSTITUTION: Precipitates, containing arsenic sulfide, and obtained by sulfiding a waste liquor containing arsenic, etc. are kept under heating at a temperature below the softening point thereof under atmospheric pressure or below, and then the pressure is reduced to ordinary pressure. The above-mentioned step is repeated if necessary once or more, and the moisture in the precipitates is boiled to deaerate fully the air contained in the interior thereof. The resultant heat- treated precipitates are then subjected to the hydrothermal treatment at the softening temperature thereof or above and the melting point thereof or below. Thus, the precipitates containing the arsenic sulfide can be uniformly formed into lumps of high density without leaving unlumped parts in the interior thereof. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1984,JPO&Japio
