abstract PURPOSE: To produce wholly aromatic polyamide fibers for reinforcing concrete having improved reinforcing effects, by drawing wholly aromatic polyamide fibers, applying a specific amount of a film-forming high polymer to the drawn fibers, and applying a finishing oiling agent to the resultant fibers. n CONSTITUTION: Wholly aromatic polyamide fibers, e.g. fibers consisting of poly p-phenylene terephthalamide, are drawn, and 0.3W1.5wt%, based on the above-mentioned fibers, fiber-forming high polymer, e.g. a water-soluble urethane resin, etc. is applied to the resultant drawn fibers. A nonaqueous finishing oiling agent, e.g. mineral oil or an ester of a higher alcohol with a higher fatty acid, in an amount of 0.5W3wt% based on the above-mentioned fibers is applied thereto, and the resultant fibers are wound to afford the aimed wholly aromatic polyamide fibers. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1984,JPO&Japio
