abstract | PURPOSE: The titled copolymer membrane, having a specific thickness and many micropores having a specified pore diameter distributed on one surface thereof and many micropores having a larger pore diameter than the above-mentioned pore diameter distributed on the other surface, further a specific amount of water permeation or above and improved removal rate of polystyrene latex and physical properties of the membrane. n CONSTITUTION: (B) Ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer is dissolved in (A) a mixed solvent of (i) an organic solvent, e.g. one or more of a 1W4C aliphatic alcohol, dimethylacetamide, dimethylformamide and dimethyl sulfoxide, with (ii) water, and the resultant solution is cast on (C) a coagulating solution consisting essentially of water and coagulated preferably at 0W35°C to give the aimed porous thin film having 0.5W30μ thickness, many micropores, having 0.1W10μ pore diameter, and distributed on one surface and many micropores, having ≥1μ pore diameter and larger pore diameter than the above-mentioned pore diameter, and distributed on the other surface and further ≥0.5cm 3 /cm 2 .min.kg/cm 2 amount of water permeation. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1984,JPO&Japio |
