titleOfInvention Dry ozone oxidation
abstract PURPOSE: In carrying out dry ozone oxidation, to obtain a compound useful as perfume, etc. in high yield, by introducing a dry ozone gas from the top of a reactor to it, by introducing a hydroxyl group into a bridgehead and/or tertiary carbon atom of a compound containing the bridgehead and/or tertiary carbon atom by a simple operation inexpensively. n CONSTITUTION: A raw material compound to be oxidized is dissolved in a proper inert solvent, mixed with a carrier, the solvent is removed, the mixture is dried to give the carrier on which the raw material compound is adsorbed. The carrier on which the raw material compound is adsorbed is packed into a reactor for dry ozone oxidation, a dried ozone gas is introduced from the top of the reactor to it so that oxidation reaction is carried out, and a formed compound is isolated from the adsorption carrier. A container capable of introducing the dried ozone gas from the top and discharging it from the bottom is usable as the reactor for introducing the dried ozone gas. The feed time of the ozone gas is preferably 1W3hr. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1984,JPO&Japio
