abstract PURPOSE:To obtain a heat-sensitive recording material excellent in heat response, preservation stability and stability of an image, by using a specified fluoran compound in combination with a specified phenolic compound functioning as a color developer. CONSTITUTION:A single or a plurality of fluoran compounds of formula I (wherein each of R1, R2 is 1-6C alkyl or cycloalkyl; R3 is 1-2C alkyl; n is a number 0 or 1) and a phenolic compound of formula II (wherein R is an alkylene group having 1-5 ether bonds) are boundly supported on a base. In this case, a conventional binding agent such as polyvinyl alcohol is appropriately used, and a conventional auxiliary additive or a color developer is added, if required.
