PURPOSE: To prepare antibiotic neoviridogriseins, especially neoviridogrisein IIselectively, by cultivating a bacterium belonging to the genus Streptomyces. n CONSTITUTION: A variant such as Streptomyces sp.G-89 (FERM-P 184) belonging to the genus Streptomyces, capable of producing antibiotic neoviridogriseins shown by the formula (R is hydrogen, or hydroxyl group), deficient in prolylhydroxylase activity, is inoculated into a nutrient medium, cultivated at 24W 33°C at 6W9pH under aerobic conditions, and antibiotic neoviridog riseins consisting essentially of antibiotic neoviridogrisein II wherein R is hydrogen atom in the formula is collected from the culture solution. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1984,JPO&Japio |
