titleOfInvention | Production of polyester of excellent water resistance |
abstract | PURPOSE: To obtain a polyester of improved water resistance, by cocondensing starting materials such that a sulfonate group-containing aromatic dicarboxylic acid and polyethylene glycol in a polyester are present in a specified ratio. n CONSTITUTION: In producing a polyester by reacting a dicarboxylic acid with a sulfonate group-containing aromatic dicarboxylic acid, an alkylene glycol and polyethylene glycol; said compounds are cocondensed such that the content of the total dicarboxylic acid in the produced polyester and the content of polyethylene glycol in the total glycol may lie within the region confined by the points, A(0,12), B(0,5), C(10,3) and D(15,3) in the drawing. A particularly desirable region is one confined by the points, E(0,10), F(0,6), G(9,4), and H(12,4). n COPYRIGHT: (C)1984,JPO&Japio |
