titleOfInvention Dispersant for talc
abstract PURPOSE:To provide a dispersant for talc having improved dispersibility by making the same essentially consist of the alkali metallic salt of dialkyl-sulfosuccinic acid. CONSTITUTION:The alkali metallic salt of dialkyl-sulfosuccinic acid is used as an essential component for a dispersant for talc. The alkyl group of the alkali metallic salt of dialkyl-sulfosuccinic acid used here has preferably 5-11 carbon atoms. The adequate amt. of the dispersant of dialkyl-sulfosuccinate to be used is 0.08-2wt% relative to talc. The dispersant is highly effective for ultrafine powdery talc of 2-20mu average grain sizes. Polyphosphate or polyacrylate is used in combination in order to improve additionally the properties of the aq. dispersion. The aq. dispersion of concn. as high as 55-60wt% talc content is obtainable by using such dispersant, and the resulted aq. dispersion of talc has a low viscosity and is stable for a long period of time.
