titleOfInvention Manufacture of styrene derivative polymer
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain titled polymer with reactive group, useful as a reactive polymer, by first carrying out a reaction of a specific styrene derivative with a substituted silyl group-contg. compound followed by anionic polymerization to form a living polymer which is then brought into contact with a proton donor. n CONSTITUTION: A styrene derivative of formula [X is (CH 2 ) n OH, NR 1 , R 2 (R 1 and R 2 are each H 1 or alkyl); n is 0W6] is allowed to react with a substituted silyl group-contg. compound of formula R 3 R 4 R 5 Si-(R 3 , R 4 and R 5 are each alkyl or aryl) to prepare a substituted silyl group-substituted styrene derivative, which is then encapsulated in a tube 4 with breakable seal. Also, an anionic polymerization initiator is encapsulated in another tube 2 with brakable seal. Both tubes are connected to the flash 1 followed by making them internally vacuumed by the vacuum line 8 to effect decapsulation at a point A, then by breaker rupture by the magnet 10 to mix the monomer with the initiator, while results in the formation of a living polymer followed by being brought into contact with a proton donor, thus obtaining the objective polymer. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1984,JPO&Japio
