titleOfInvention 2-(substituted phenoxy)propionic acid derivative and herbicide containing said derivative as active component
abstract NEW MATERIAL:The 2-(substituted phenoxy)propionic acid derivative of formula I (R 1 is 4-chlorophenyl or 2,4-dichlorophenyl; R 2 is H or lower alkyl). n EXAMPLE: N-{(±)-2-[4-(2,4-Dichlorophenoxy)phenoxy]propionyl}isoxazolidine. n USE: Herbicide effective especially to gramineous weeds, free from phytotoxicity to soybean, beet, radish, cabbage, cotton, etc., having no toxicity to man, animal and fish, and applicable safely. n PROCESS: The objective compound of formula I can be prepared, e.g. by reacting the compound of formula II (X is halogen) with the novel compound of formula IIIin the presence of an acid acceptor. The novel compound of formula III can be obtained easily by the reaction of N-(2-halopropionyl)isoxazolidine with hydroquinone. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1984,JPO&Japio
