titleOfInvention Production of aqueous dispersion of magnesium hydroxide
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain an aq. dispersion of magnesium hydroxide having a high concn. by dispersing the fine powder of magnesium hydroxide in water in the presence of the condensation product of melamine and formalin contg. a sulfone group. n CONSTITUTION: Melamine, formaldehyde and a material for supplying a sulfonic acid group such as sulfite are brought into condensation reaction in an aq. medium at, for example, 1:2.2W3.2:0.3W0.3W1.2 molar ratios of melamine, formaldehyde and sulfonic acid group, whereby the sulfonated melamine formalin condensate is obtd. Such sulfonated melamine formalin condensate is dispersed in water in a 0.05W5% ratio to the magnesium oxide to be dispersed, and the fine powder of magnesium hydroxide is dispersed therein, whereby the aq. dispersion of magnesium hydroxide is produced. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1984,JPO&Japio
