titleOfInvention | Surface treatment of wax pattern for casting |
abstract | PURPOSE:To make the surface of a wax pattern extremely fine and to manufacture a casting having a good surface in a lost wax method by treating the surface of the wax pattern for casting with a solvent consisting essentially of a chlorofluoro hydrocarbon fluorohydrocarbon solvent. CONSTITUTION:A compd. wherein the hydrogen atom of a hydrocarbon compd. is substd. with at least >=1 fluorine atom and at least >=1 chlorine atom, for example, trichlorofluoromethane or the like is used as a chlorinated hydrocarbon solvent to be coated on the surface of a wax pattern for casing and, if necessary, alcohols such as methanol can be mixed therewith. The wax pattern is dipped for 2-20sec in the fluorine solvent and is then dried, whereby the surface of the wax pattern is treated. Since the wax pattern has an extremely fine surface, the uniform coating of a refractory slurry thereon in accomplished and the manufacture of a casting having high accuracy is made possible. |
