abstract | PURPOSE: To prepare maltopentaose, industrially, by culturing a microbial strain belonging to Bacillus genus and capable of producing maltopentaose, under aerobic condition. n CONSTITUTION: Bacillus cereus NY-14 (FERM-P No.6648) is inoculated in a medium containing a polysaccharide containing α-1,4-glucoside.glucose, e.g. starch, amylopectin, amylose, dextrin, etc. and other essential nutrients. The concentration of polysaccharide in the medium is maintained to 2W20%. After inoculation, the bacterial cell is cultured aerobically at about 30°C for 24W48hr to produce and accumulate maltopentaose in the cuture liquid. The liquid is filtered, and the filtrate is subjected to the gel-filtration, a chromatography such as ion exchange chromatograhy, etc. to obtain purified maltopentaose. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1984,JPO&Japio |
