titleOfInvention Rubber composition containing short fiber
abstract PURPOSE: A rubber composition, prepared by incorporating a rubber crosslinkable with a peroxide with short fibers having terminal groups reactive with the rubber and a peroxide, capable of giving crosslinked products having remarkably improved compression set, and suitable for packing or sealing materials, etc. n CONSTITUTION: A rubber composition pepared by incorporating 100pts.wt. rubber crosslinkable with a peroxide, e.g. nitrile rubber, ethylene-propylene rubber, etc. with 20W70pts.wt., preferably 30W60pts.wt., short fibers having terminal groups reactive with the peroxide, preferably short fibers having 10'30μ thickness and 0.5W30mm length and 1W6pts.wt. peroxide, e.g. dicumyl peroxide or 2,5-dimethyl-2, 5-dihexane. Polyamide type fibers treated with a phenolic or isocyanate type compound are used as the above-mentioned short fibers, and a crosslinked material in which the rubber is integrally crosslinked with the short fibers is obtained. The fluffing, and eliminating of the short fibers by the abrasion, flexing, etc. are not caused to control the migration of the rubber by the compression, etc. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1984,JPO&Japio
