abstract PURPOSE: To provide a low-toxic carcinostatc agent having differentiation-inducing activity to the tumor cell of aminal, and exhibiting carcinostatic activity at a low concentration over a wide concentration range, by using a piericidin as an active component. n CONSTITUTION: The objective agent contains a piercicidin of formula (R is H or CH 3 ) which is known as an insecticidal substance separated from the cultured cells of Streptomyces mobaraensis belonging to actino-mycetes, Streptomyces genus. The carcinostattic agent can be administered orally or parenterally. Dose: 0.01W100mg/kg, preferably ≤10mg/kg daily for adult for oral administration, and preferably ≤2mg/kg for parenteral administration. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1984,JPO&Japio
