titleOfInvention | Separation and determination of ionomer resin |
abstract | PURPOSE: To separate an ionomer resin and determine its amount in high accuracy, without necessitating particular apparatus nor complicate operation, by hydrolyzing a resin composition containing ionomer resin, e.g. a molded resin article, etc., and dissolving and removing the hydrolyzed resin. n CONSTITUTION: A resin composition such as polyester resin, etc. is hydrolyzed usually with an alcoholic aqueous solution of caustic alkali (e.g. potassium hydroxide, etc.) (the alcohol is methanol, ethanol, etc.) e.g. at 140W160°C for 3W4hr, if necessary using an autoclave, etc. The hydrolyzed resin is dissolved and removed to leave the ionomer resin which is resistant to hydrolysis and is used usually as a conditioner or a modifier for molded resin articles, etc. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1984,JPO&Japio |
