titleOfInvention Preparation of diphenyl disulfide derivative
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain a diphenyl disulfide derivative in high yield and purity in reducing benzenesulfonyl chloride to prepare the diphenyl disulfide derivative, by using a substance capable of generating SO 2 in the anhydrous state and I 2 , etc. n CONSTITUTION: Benzenesulfonyl chloride is reduced to prepare a diphenyl disulfide derivative. In the process, an alkali sulfite or thiosulfate is used as a reducing agent in the anhydrous state, or SO 2 and an adequate amount of water are used. An organic acid or an inert organic solvent containing the organic acid is used as the solvent, and iodine or an iodide is used as a catalyst to give the aimed compound. n EFFECT: Very inexpensive sulfurous acid, etc. may be used as the reducing agent, and the use of expensive hydrogen iodide is not necessary. There is no fear for pollution of water quality in waste water treatment. The method is very industrially advantageous. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1984,JPO&Japio
