titleOfInvention Recording liquid
abstract PURPOSE: To prevent build-up of solids during storage, and improve ejection stability, ejection response, continuous recordability, etc., by incorporating glycerol monomethyl ether in a recording liq. for use in ink jet recording. n CONSTITUTION: In a recording liq. for use in ink jet recording, about 2wt% or above, based on the total amt. of the recording liq., glycerol monomethyl ether as a liq. medium component is incorporated in order to improve the solubility of the recording liq., particularly dyes, thereby yielding the intended recording liq. Glycerol monomethyl ether is used as a liq. medium component alone or in admixture with water or a nonaq. liq. medium such as ethyl alcohol, diethylene glycol, ethylene glycol diethyl ether, or N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone. Recording agents such as dyes or pigments are dissolved in said liq. medium, and the soln. is caused to eject in the form of liq. droplets from the discharge port of a recording head and to adhere to the surface to be recorded, thereby effecting recording. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1984,JPO&Japio
