abstract | PURPOSE: To facilitate the production of the titled rubber having excellent properties, by copolymerizing a specified, metal-containing, polymerizable double bond-terminated, liquid rubber with a vinyl monomer. n CONSTITUTION: A carboxyl group-terminated liquid rubber (e.g., carboxyl group- terminated liquid polybutadiene) is partially neutralized with metal ions (e.g., Mg ++ , Ca ++ or Zn ++ ) to a neutralization degree of about 5W60%, and then the partially neutralized liquid rubber is reacted with a polymerizable double bond- containing epoxy compound (e.g., glycidyl methacrylate). Then, about 20W 60pts.wt. produced metal-containing, polymerizable double bond-terminated, liquid rubber is radical-copolymerized with about 80W40pts.wt. vinyl monomer (e.g., methacrylic acid or styrene) by using benzoyl peroxide or the like as a catalyst. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1984,JPO&Japio |
