titleOfInvention Preparation of spiroortho ester
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain easily the titled compound useful as a molding material, etc., having a quick curing rate, high glass transition temperature of the cured compound, and extremely low shrinkage in volume during curing, by reacting a polyglycidyl ether of a phenolic resin with a lactone. n CONSTITUTION: A polyglycidyl ether or poly (β-methylglycidyl ether) of a phenolic resin is reacted with a lactone (e.g., γ-butyrolactone, δ-valerolactone, ε-caprolactone, etc.), to give a spiroortho ester compound. In the reaction, preferably ≥1mol, more preferably 1.2W5mol lactone is used based on 1 equivalent epoxy group of the epoxy resin, and the reaction is carried out in a solvent such as methylene chloride, carbon tetrachloride, etc. using Lewis acid such as BF 3 OEt 2 , SnCl 4 , etc. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1984,JPO&Japio
