abstract | PURPOSE:To provide the titled agent containing a specific acetophenone compound and a specific isothiazolone complex compound as active components, capable of effectively controlling the molds, bacteria, algae, etc. harmful in industry, and exhibiting highly remarkable effect compared with the separate use of the components. CONSTITUTION:The objective agent contains, as active components, (A) one or more acetophenone compounds selected from the compounds of formula I (X is halogen; Y is halogen or H) (e.g. 2-bromo-4'-hydroxyacetophenone) and (B) one or more isothiazolone complex compounds selected from the compounds of formula II (Y is H, alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl or aralkyl; R and R' are H, halogen, alkyl or form a benzene ring together with the skeleton of isothiazole ring; M is cation of metal, ammonium, etc.; X is anion having sufficiently high solubility to form a complex and capable of forming a compound with M; a is 1 or 2; n is integer) [e.g. 2-methyl-3-isothiazolone calcium (II) chloride]. |
