titleOfInvention | Production of azetidinone and azetidinone derivative |
abstract | PURPOSE: To obtain the titled compound useful as pharmaceuticals or agricultural chemicals, especially as antibiotics or their intermediates, by reacting an acid halide with a hydrazine derivative in a mixture of water and an organic solvent in the presence of a phase transfer catalyst. n CONSTITUTION: The acid halide of formula I (R 1 and R 2 are H, alkyl, aryl, halogen, etc.; X 1 and X 2 are halogen; n is 1 or 2) is made to react with the hydrazine derivative of formula II [R 3 and R 4 are H, alkyl, aryl, group of R 6 -NH-CS- (R 6 is alkyl, aryl, etc.), etc.] in a mixture of water and an organic solvent (e.g. methylene chloride, benzene, etc.) in the presence of a phase transfer catalyst such as strongly basic resin, etc. at 0W30°C for 8W24hr to obtain the objective compound of formula III (R 5 is same as R 4 , etc.). n COPYRIGHT: (C)1984,JPO&Japio |
