titleOfInvention Unsaturated fatty acid derivative
abstract NEW MATERIAL:An unsaturated fatty acid α-tocotrienol ester. n EXAMPLE: Linoleic acid α-tocotrienol ester. n USE: An agent to inhibit the coagulation of blood platelet, and a preventive for the metastasis of cancer. n PREPARATION: The objective linoleic acid α-tocotrienol ester can be prepared e.g. by (1) dissolving an unsaturated fatty acid such as linoleic acid in unhydrous 1,2-dichloroethane, etc. in argon atmosphere, (2) adding 4-dimethylaminopyridine, dicyclohexyl-carbodiimide and α-tocotrienol successively to the solution at room temperature to effect the reaction of the components, (3) separating the produced precipitate by filtration, extracting with dichloromethane, etc. and washing with water, (4) subjecting the product to the silica gel column chromatogaphy, and (5) collecting the objective compound from the fraction eluted by the hexane-benzene mixture (2:1). n COPYRIGHT: (C)1984,JPO&Japio
