abstract | PURPOSE: An autiulcer having more improved activity with a small amount than ones on the market and low toxicity, comprising 2-(4-ethyl-1-piperazinyl)-4- phenylquinoline or its salt as an active ingredient. n CONSTITUTION: An autiulcer comprising 2-(4-ethyl-1-piperazinyl)-4-phenylquinoline shown by the formula II or its salt as an active ingredient. The compound shown by the formula is well-known as an antidepressant, drug for Parkinson's, disease, etc., and found newly to have improved antiulcer action. The compound shown by the formula has improved inhibitory action of formation of ulcer and inhibitory action on secretion of acid in the stomach, and is useful as an antiulcer.
