PURPOSE: To obtain the titled compsn. which is stabilized against heat and has an excellent discoloration resistance at the initial and latter stage, by adding a lead stabilizer together with a boron compd. derived from the esterification reaction of a polyhydric alcohol with a fatty acid and boric acid, to a halogen- contg. resin. n CONSTITUTION: In stabilizing a halogen-contg. resin with a lead stabilizer, a boron compd. derived from the esterification reaction of a polyhydric alcohol with a fatty acid and boric acid is added. When an org. phosphite compd. is used together with the boron compd., a halogen-contg. resin compsn. having further improved discoloration resistance at the initial and latter stages can be obtd. Examples of the lead stabilizers are lead stearate, dibasic lead phosphite, lead salicylate, etc. Examples of the boron compds. are those of formulas I , IIand III, wherein R 1 is a residue derived from the partial esterification of a polyhydric alcohol with a fatty acid and resulting from the removal of hydroxyl group from the alcohol; R 2 , R 3 , R 4 are each H or a mono- to polyhydric alcohol or phenol residue where one hydroxyl group is removed. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1984,JPO&Japio |
