titleOfInvention | Method for measuring oxygen quantity using solid electrolyte oxygen sensor |
abstract | PURPOSE:To improve responsiveness of a sensor and to shorten a measuring interval by providing a solid electrolyte oxygen sensor in a heat insulated vessel, sucking and diffusing forcedly a gas to be measured into the heat insulated vessel and the inner part of the sensor before driving the sensor. CONSTITUTION:The solid electrolyte oxygen sensor 1 is provided in the heat insulated vessel 6, an opening and closing apparatus 7 is operated to close airtightly a connecting hole 6b of the vessel 6, then a vacuum pump is driven to decompress the inner part of the vessel 6. During the operation, a heating means H is driven to heat the inner part of the vessel 6 and the sensor 1 to a prescribed temp. Next, the apparatus 7 is operated again, to open the hole 6b, and the gas to be measured in a measuring domain E is sucked and diffused. When the pressures in the vessel 6 and the inner part of the sensor 1 and that of an outer part of the vessel 6 attain the equilibrium, a driving current is supplied to the sensor 1 to cause a pumping action in the sensor 1, and the oxygen quantity in the gas to be measured is measured. |
