Molecular weight; 1,001.5. Molecular formula; C 49 H 75 N 7 O 15 . Specific rotatory power; [α]D 25 =-92.0°(C=0.1, methanol). Melting point;206W 208°C, etc. n USE: An insecticide, acaricide, antifeedant and growth inhibitor, having low toxicity to humans, cattle and fishes. n PREPARATION: A crude drug, e.g. a dried leaf of Ardirisia crenata Sims., is dipped in a leaching agent, e.g. methanol, for e.g. 1W15hr, and the solvent is then distilled from the resultant liquid under reduced pressure to give a concentrated residue, which is then dissolved in a mixed liquid of ether, etc. with water to extract the organic layer. The resultant extracted solution is then subjected to silica column chromatography and eluted with chloroform and chloroform-methanol (30:1 volume ratio) one after another to afford the aimed fraction.
