titleOfInvention Removal of alkali metal in organic compound
abstract PURPOSE: To remove alkali metals in a liquid organic compound containing alkali metals industrially advantageously, by bringing specific basic aluminum carbonate gel into the organic compound under nonaqueous conditions. n CONSTITUTION: Basic aluminum carbonate gel shown by the formula [M 1 is divalent metal (e.g., alkaline earth metal such as Mg, Ca, etc.); M 2 is alkali metal (e.g., Na, or K), or NH 4 ; 0≤x<1, preferably 0≤x<0.5, especially 0≤x< 0.2; 0.1≤y<1, preferably 0.2≤y<0.5; 2≤m<10; CO 2 is present in the form of HCO 3 - or CO 3 2- , preferably both ions are present in a ratio of especially CO 3 2- >HCO 3 ] is brought into contact with a liquid organic compound containing alkali melts derived from an alkali catalyst under nonaqueous conditions, so that the alkali metals in the organic compound are removed by an extremely simple operation and process without exerting bad influence upon the organic compound. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1984,JPO&Japio
