abstract | PURPOSE: The reaction of an alkali salt of 2-hydroxymethylene-3,3-dialkoxypropanenitrile with a hydrazine mineral acid salt forms the titled compound used as a synthetic intermediate of medicines, agricultural chemicals, and so on, in high yield. n CONSTITUTION: The reaction of alkali metal salt of 2-hydroxymethylene-3,3-dialkoxypropanenitrile of formula I (R 1 WR 3 is 1W5C alkyl; M is alkali metal) or an alkali metal salt of 2-hydroxymethylene-3,3-dialkoxypropionic acid ester of formula II with a hydrazine salt with a mineral acid such as hydrochloric, sulfuric, nitric or phosphoric acid is carried out, preferably at a molar ratio of 1:(0.5W5) in an alcoholic solvent or a mixture thereof with other solvents to form a 4-substituted pyrazole such as 4-pyrazolecarbonitrile. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1984,JPO&Japio |
