abstract PURPOSE: An impact-resistant thermoplastic resin composition excellent in gloss, prepared by specifying both the content of the unsaturated nitrile monomer units in the polymer portion grafted onto the rubber in a graft polymer and the content of the same monomer units in the total free poymer within specified ranges. n CONSTITUTION: The titled composition comprising a graft polymer (C) obtained by polymerizing an aromatic vinyl compound (A) or a monomer mixture containing compound A and an unsaturated nitrile (B), or a mixture comprising polymer C and a polymer based on compound A or on both compounds A and B, wherein the weight ratio of compound B to compound A of the nonrubber polymer is 5W25/95W75, the content of rubber is 5W25wt%, that of the unsaturated nitrile monomer units in the polymer portion, except rubber, grafted onto the rubbery polymer is 0W35wt%, that of the total free ungrafted polymer is 2W20wt%, and the intrinsic viscosity (as measured in methyl ethyl ketone at 30°C) of the total free polymer is 0.4W0.9dl/g. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1984,JPO&Japio
