titleOfInvention | Plastic lens |
abstract | PURPOSE:To obtain a lens enhanced in water repellency, reduced in water absorptivity, and unaffected in refractive index, etc. by water absorption, by hardening a fluorinated polymerizable unsatd. monomer, or when needed, a compsn. contg. this monomer and another polymerizable unsatd. monomer or unsatd. oligomer. CONSTITUTION:A plastic lens is obtained by polymerizing with heat or UV rays a single monomer of (meth)acrylate ester of an alcohol having a fluorinated alkyl or alkylene group or a fluorinated aromatic monomer, or a mixture contg. it, or a compsn. contg. it and another polymerizable unsatd. monomer or an unsatd. oligomer of epoxy alkylate, urethane acrylate or the like, when needed. The polymn. of the fluorinated monomer enhances water and solvent resistance, staining resistance, smoothness, water and oil repellency, etc., and the obtained lens is superior and prevented from change of refractive index and deterioration due to water absorption. |
