titleOfInvention Magnetic recording body
abstract PURPOSE:To have excellent orientability of a magnetic material and durability by consisting a titled recording body of a nonmagnetic substrate and a magnetic layer provided thereon and incorporating carbon black having >=30mmu average primary particle size and <6pH in the magnetic layer. CONSTITUTION:The average primary particle size of carbon black are larger than 30mmu, particularly preferably >=50mmu, more particularly preferably 50mmu- 150mmu. If the particle size are small, the durability of the magnetic layer is insufficient, and the carbon black having large size is hardly available on the market. The pH of the cabon black is <6, more preferably <4. If the pH is larger than said value, the orientability is inferior and the carbon black is ineffective. The amt. of the carbon black to be added is 1-20pts.wt., more particularly 3-15pts.wt. based on 100pts.wt. a magnetic material. If the amt. is too small, the antistat effect of decreases and if the amt. is too large, the degree of filling of the magnetic material decreases and an electromagnetic conversion characteristics deteriorates.
