titleOfInvention Preparation of polysulfoxide carbonate
abstract PURPOSE: To prepare the titled homogeneous polymer, safely, easily, at a low cost, by reacting a specific compound in place of phosgene with a hydroxysulfoxide compound in an ester solvent. n CONSTITUTION: The objective polysulfoxide carbonate can be prepared by reacting (A) a dihydroxydiarylsulfoxide compound (e.g. 4,4'-dihydroxydiphenylsulfoxide, etc.) with (B) a compound having N,N'-carbonyl bond (e.g. N,N'-carbonyl-diimidazole, etc.) in (C) an ester solvent (e.g. dimethyl carbonate). The amount of the component A is preferably equimolar to the component B. n EFFECT: No environmental pollution, simple reaction apparatus, easy handling of the raw materials, and easy separation of by-products. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1984,JPO&Japio
