PURPOSE: The titled composition, containing glycerol pyroglutamate in a drug effective component, and having enhanced penetrance and permeability of the drug in the skin or mucosa. n CONSTITUTION: A medicinal composition containing glycerol pyroglutamate expressed by the formula (R 1 and R 2 are H or -CO-R 3 provided that at least one of R 1 and R 2 is -CO-R 3 ; R 3 is 1W24C alkyl or 2W24C alkenyl) in a drug. The glycerol pyroglutamate has powerful action on enhancement of penetrance and permeability of the drug in biomembrane, e.g. the skin, nasal mucosa, ocular mucosa, oral mucosa or rectal mucosa, etc. and is capable of enahanceing remarkably the absorbability of the drug in the living body and improving well the bioavailability of the drug with low irritancy to the skin and mucosa and high safety. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1984,JPO&Japio |
