titleOfInvention Production of cast plate of antistatic methacrylic resin
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the titled resin plate without losing the antistatic properties by washing with water at a low cost, by synthesizing an acrylic or methacrylic acid ester containing a specific sulfonic acid salt in the form of a solution, reducing the solvent content to a specific value or below, mixing the resultant ester with methyl methacrylate, and polymerizing the resultant mixture. n CONSTITUTION: A sulfonic acid salt, expressed by formula I (R 1 is H or methyl; R 2 is hydrocarbon or organic group containing oxyalkylene group; A is 2W4C alkylene; n is number average value and 0W35; M is alkali metal or ammonium, etc.) or formula II, and synthesized in the form of a solution in water and/ or an organic solvent is used, and the water or organic solvent or both are removed from the solution at 130°C or below. 0.5W15pts.wt. solid of the resultant sulfonic acid salt with ≤5wt% water and/or organic solvent content is contained in 100pts.wt. monomer, e.g. methyl methacrylate, or partial polymer thereof, and the resultant mixture is polymerized in a cell consisting of two panes of tempered glass to afford the aimed cast plate. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1984,JPO&Japio
