abstract | PURPOSE: To provide a feed containing a large amount of protein, having high attracting effect to fish, and producible in a large quantity at a low cost, by using cockroach cake prepared by removing uric acid from cockroach, as an active component. n CONSTITUTION: Cockroach is preferably freeze-dried, and crushed. The uric acid in the crushed cockroach is extracted and separated with an alkaline solution, and the extraction residue is dried and crushed to obtain cockroach cake. The extraction is preferably carried out at 80W120°C usually for about 1W10hr using a solution having a pH of ≥7, e.g. NaOH solution. The cockroach cake free from uric acid is added to a feed as a protein source. The cockroach cake has high attracting effect to fish, etc., and the fish prefers and takes the feed containing the cake without reluctance. The content of protein in the cockroach cake is about 60W75%. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1984,JPO&Japio |
