abstract PURPOSE: To prevent sedimentaion of pulverized coal by incorporating an alkylene oxide adduct of a polyamide resin contg. active hydrogen atoms obtd. as a condensation product of a polybasic carboxylic acid with a polyamine or a deriv. of said alkylene oxide adduct. n CONSTITUTION: A dispersant for aq. coal slurry is obtd. by incorporating an alkylene oxide adduct of a polyamide resin contg. active hydrogen atoms prepd. by condensation reaction of a polybasic acid having 300W1,000 molecular weight with a polyamine, or a deriv. thereof. Preferred polybasic acid iw dimer acid of unsatd. fatty acid, and preferred polyamine is aliphatic polyamine. The polyamide resin has pref. ≥10 in average active hydrogen atoms in one molecule. Suitable amt. of said dispersant to be used depends on the particle size of the coal; it is usually 0.1W1.0wt%, but ≤1wt% when 80% of the coal passes through a 200 mesh sieve. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1984,JPO&Japio
