abstract PURPOSE:To provide the titled material reduced in development of ground color and excellent in chemical resistance and retaining property, wherein a diphenylthiourea compound is used as a color developer, the color developer and a leuco dye are incorporated respectively in different layer, and the two layers are separated from each other by an intermediate layer formed from a specified coating liquid. CONSTITUTION:A dye layer, the intermediate layer and a color developer layer are sequentially provided on a base in this order or in the reverse order. A leuco dye, e.g., 3-(N-methyl-N-cyclohexylamino)-6-methyl-7-anilinofluoran or 3-(N-ethyl- N-amylamino)-6-methyl-7-anilinofluoran, is used as the dye, while a diphenylthiourea compound, e.g., di(m-trifluoromethylphenylthiourea), is used as the color developer, and a layer obtained by applying a coating liquid comprising a hydrophobic high molecular weight compound emulsified in water as a main constituent, followed by drying is used as the intermediate layer.
