titleOfInvention Low-viscosity agent for suppressing increase of blood cholesterol level
abstract PURPOSE: To provide the titled suppressing agent containing a low-viscosity polysaccharide having extremely high handleability for drug preparation, etc., as an active component. n CONSTITUTION: The objective agent for suppressing the increase of the blood cholesterol level and having low viscosity can be obtained by using a polysaccharide having a viscosity of ≤200cps at 20°C in the state of 1.5% aqueous solution (e.g. konjak mannar, guar gum, xanthan gum originated from microorganism, etc.), as an active component. The reduction of the viscosity of the above highly viscous polysaccharide to ≤200cps can be achieved by homogenizing the polysaccharide under the condition to apply a high-intensity energy to the solution, i.e. ≤0.1kW.hr per 1kg of the solution. The obtained agent is administered orally by adding to a food or feed of man or animal, or parenterally in the form of injection, etc. Dose: 450W900mg daily, per person in 3W4 divided doses. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1984,JPO&Japio
