abstract | PURPOSE: To perform effective decolorization of liquid at low cost by adding powdery anion exchange resin obtd. by pulverizing frozen particulate anion exchange resin to liquid contg. a coloring matter and adsorbing the coloring matter to the resin. n CONSTITUTION: Liquid N 2 as a refrigerant is allowed to contact directly with spherical or irregularly crushed particulate anion exchange resin having 0.3W 0.6mm effective dia. to cool the resin to ≤-100°C, then, the anion exchange resin is pulverized immediately in a hammer mill to pulverize to 1W50μ particle size. By adding the pulverized anion exchange resin to the liquid contg. the coloring matter and mixing by stirring, the coloring matter component is adsorbed to the anion exchange resin. The resin is then filtered or precipitated by coagulation to obtain decolorized liquid.
