abstract PURPOSE: To form a laminated sheet which has good heat resistance and processability, does not have malodor, is not discolored and has excellent flame resistance, by impregnating a substrate with a thermosetting resin compsn. contg. a specified synthetic flame retarder, drying it and pressing it with heating. n CONSTITUTION: A halogenated dihydroxy compd. of formula I (wherein X is halogen; R 1 is a 1W4C alkylidene, alkylene; m, n are each 1, 2) is reacted with a halogenated monoglycidyl ether of formula II (wherein R 2 is H, a 1W4C alkyl; lis 1W3) in a molar ratio of 1:1W3. The reaction product having an MW of 700W1,400 is reacted with a phenolic novolak glycidyl ether compd. in a quantity of 0.05W0.5 times by mol that of said product to obtain a synthetic resin flame retarder. Said flame retarder is blended with a thermosetting resin. The resulting resin compdn. is used to produce laminated sheets in a conventional manner. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1984,JPO&Japio
