titleOfInvention | Improvement in oxo synthesis |
abstract | PURPOSE: To improve the yield of aldehyde and alcohol in the hydroformylation of 3W20C mono-olefin under specific condition in the presence of a specific catalyst, by treating the reaction product with water under specific condition after the completion of the reaction and prior to the removal of the catalyst. n CONSTITUTION: A 3W20C mono-olefin is hydroformylated by reacting with carbon monoxide and hydrogen under high temperature and pressure in the presence of hydrocobalt tetracarbonyl and/or dicobalt octacarbonyl catalyst to obtain an aldehyde and alcohol having a carbon number larger than that of the olefin by one. In the above process, the objective compounds can be obtained in high yield by adding 5W100pts.wt. of water to 1pt.wt. of the reaction product after the completion of the reaction and before the removal of the catalyst, and treating the product under high temperature and pressure, i.e. ≥50kg/cm 2 of CO partial pressure at 100W160°C in the presence of the above catalyst, thereby hydrolyzing the by-produced acetal. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1984,JPO&Japio |
