abstract NEW MATERIAL:A protein derivative having an appropriate length of a chain structure which has an active group selected from the group of carboxyl, halomethylcarbonyl and amino on its terminal and binds with the protein by reacting the active group with at least one of free amino or free thiol groups. n EXAMPLE: The compound of the formula. n USE: Difunctional crosslinking agent. n PREPARATION: A difunctional crosslinking reagent that has an appropriate length of a chain structure which is free from groups reactive with the protein, an active group selected from carboxyl, halomethylcarbonyls and amino on one end and another active group selected from carboxyl, halomethylcarbonyl and active ester on the other end is bonded with a protein by linking these active group with the amino or thiol groups in the protein. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1984,JPO&Japio
