titleOfInvention Antiseptic and antifungal agent
abstract PURPOSE: An antiseptic and antifungal agent, containing thiabendazole and another compound as active constituents, capable of exhibiting more improved synergistic effect on antifungal action than in use of each individual chemical, having low toxicity, useful as various compositions or for coating without harming humans and clomestre, animate and is suitable particularly for household use. n CONSTITUTION: An antiseptic and antifungal agent containing thiabendazole [2-(4-thiazolyl)benzimidazole] of formula I and one or more of chlorhexidine hydrochloride of formula II, o-phenylphenol of formula III and N,N-dimethyl-N'- phenyl-N'-fluorodichloromethylthiosulfanilide of formula IV as active constituents. The mixing molar ratio between the compound of formula I to the compounds of formulas IIWIV is 1:1, and the compounds are dissolved in a suitable solvent and applied to a necessary site or article by a means, e.g. coating, spraying or dipping, etc. or incorporated with a paint and coated to give antifungal effect on the coated surface. The amount of the compounds to be incorporated is preferably 0.1wt% or more total active constituents based on the total weight of the composition. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1984,JPO&Japio
