titleOfInvention Production of polyether compound
abstract PURPOSE: To prevent side reactions from occurring and obtain a less colored, high-quality and sharp-MW distribution polyether compound, by using a heteropolyacid as a catalyst in conducting ring opening addition reaction of a cyclic ether compound. n CONSTITUTION: The purpose polyether compound is obtained by effecting ring opening addition reaction of a cyclic ether compound such as propylene oxide, epichlorohydrin, tetrahydrofuran, or glycidyl ether, optionally together with a hydroxy compound, e.g., propylene glycol or bisphenol A, in the presence of a catalyst comprising a heteropolyacid. The term "heteropolyacid", refers to a condensed inorganic acid formed from at least two metallic elements, and preferable examples are phosphomolybdic, phosphotungstic, silicomolybdic and silicotungstic acids. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1984,JPO&Japio
