titleOfInvention Epoxy resin composition for forming elastomer
abstract PURPOSE: The titled composition capable of providing an epoxy resin elastomer having a stable low coefficient of restitution, prepared by mixing an epoxy resin with a specified curing agent. n CONSTITUTION: A curing agent is obtained by adding 25W70pts.wt. carboxylic acid anhydride (e.g., phthalic anhydride) to 100pts.wt. vegetable oil of a high acetyl value (e.g., castor oil) and effecting the esterification of the mixture at 120°C for 8hr. 100pts.wt. epoxy resin with an epoxy equivalent of 150W250 is mixed with 150W350pts.wt. above curing agent and, if necessary, 0.5W3wt% reaction accelerator (e.g., α-methylbenzylmethylamine), and the mixture is heated at 100W200°C for 1W20hr to cure the mixture. n EFFECT: It is possible to interporse a sufficiently stable linear compound between the epoxy groups of the epoxy resin and to impart large retarded elasticity and a lowered coefficient of restitution to a cured elastomer. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1984,JPO&Japio
