titleOfInvention Encephaline conversion enzyme and its preparation
abstract PURPOSE: To prepare encephaline conversion enzyme, by solubilizing the chromaffin granules of bovine adrenal medulla. n CONSTITUTION: Chromaffin granules of bovine adrenal medulla containing an encephaline conversion enzyme capable of reacting to proencephaline having the amino acid sequence of Tyr-Gly-Gly-Phe-X-Y-Z (X is Met or Leu; Y and Z are independently Arg or Lys) and specifically scissing the bond X-Y in said sequence to product Met-encephaline or Leu-encephaline, are solubilized with a 0.1M ammonium acetate (pH5.5) containing 1mM of EDTA, and the obtained solubilized product is subjected to chromatographic treatment to obtain the fraction having a molecular weight of about 220,000. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1984,JPO&Japio
